Shipping Motorcycle From Vladivostok to South East Asia ?
 

I know there is a few topics about these routes but does anyone have up to date info on shipping a motorcycle from Russia to Vietnam/Thailand/Malaysia ?

Has anyone recently done similar to this ? And how did you do it? Who did you contact ?

I know shipping Vladivostok - South Korea is an option also and maybe part of the full trip..

Also I have a carnet.

No personal experience of shipping from there. Been following this forum though, and for whatever reason, it seems very expensive to ship out of Vladivostok. By air from South Korea could actually be cheaper (but you´d need to transport there first, and that costs money too... they probably know this in Vladivostok :rofl: ).

And also haven´t heard of anyone (a regular tourist I mean – those who work there, may be in a different situation) succesfully sending their motorcycles as freight into Vietnam. If sending by air to SE Asia, I´d send to Bangkok, or Kuala Lumpur, and if sending by sea, I´d send to Port Klang (close to KL). Bangkok seaport Laem Chabang was known to be corrupt, but this was years ago, I don´t know if it still is. In general, seafreight´s advantages only start to show when the distance is really huge, so for sending from one part of Asia to another, airfreight could be the better option, although there are of course a lot of variables involved...

Did you have any luck with your research? I'm trying to research going the other way, Thailand/Malaysia to Vladivostok

Looking into similar options too .BKK to Vladivostock.
Recent info anyone?
