Shipping a motorcycle from Western Europe to Eastern Canada/USA: pointers? partners?
Looking for anyone who can give me some information on where to go for shipping a motorcycle from Western Europe to Eastern Canada/USA in September. By sea or by air OK - but I'm definitely operating on a budget. Hoping to get the bike loaded and shipped in time to ride it home to Vancouver Island before it gets too cold. Anyone interested in shipping together? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Fly it
Not sure what your budget is, but I'd suggest you contact Motorcycle Express. I've used them for two round-trips Vancouver - London - Vancouver but they go to/from several other cities as well. They provide excellent service and arranged for me to fly on the same aircraft so that my bike and I arrived together. If you have any time constraints, flying is really the only way to go.

In 2007 I shipped Southampton UK -to- Halifax NS Canada. RoRo (Roll-on, Roll-off) with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.
8 days to cross the pond + a day at each end. An excellent transatlantic ferry service. Cost at the time was around GB£600. Lots of overlanders here have used this shipping service, which is highly rated by most (including me). . |
I agree with Keith - we used Wallenius Wilhelmsen to ship to Baltimore from Southampton in 2011 at £575 - I believe that the ship starts its journey from Bremerhaven.

Thanks very much guys!
