Shipping from Western Australia to New Zealand

We know, there are plenty of shipping possibilities from Brisbane or Sydney to Auckland, BUT:
We are interested in shipping our bikes from Western Australia to Auckland and as this is a very uncommon route, there is no information at all.

So does someone know a shipping agency or contact person in Port Headland or Broome which might do the shipping to New Zealand?

If the shipping from WA to NZ is much more expensive then from Brisbane or Sydney then we´ll ride the bikes to the East Coast but as we did this route before we thought about skipping that part and ship directly from somewhere in the North of WA.

We would be very happy if there is someone out there who can give us some advice and some information.

Thank you very much.

Cheers, currently from Adelaide

G'day Bea & Helle,

Obviously shipping from the east coast will be much quicker not to mention cheaper! WA to NZ I'd imagine is not the most popular route however here are some links to options for you to enquire and decide.

Shipping Agencies, including their lines and trades represented — Lloyd's List Australia

Yellow Pages® | Shipping Companies & Agents in Port Hedland Region, WA, Australia

I hope all is well with you guys, how much longer will you be in Adelaide ?

Cheers Dave

Might be cheaper from a larger port - Perth (Fremantle) or Darwin.

While shipping to NZ from the east coast may be a little cheaper .. it may not reflect the costs of riding across.. so financially could be cheaper shipping from the west. You may be without the bike for a while though, you should have a plan for that.

Hey Guys,

Many thanks for your reply and the links!

As we have travelled the route from Darwin to the East Coast already we were thinking of skipping it now if possible.

We have planned to work in WA anyway so if it would work out than we would work somewhere while the bikes are on the ship to NZ so the longer shipping time wouldn´t be a problem.
And if the shipping costs are just a bit more expensive then from the East Coast it would probably be the same amount of money than riding the bikes across Australia.

Well, we have contacted 2 shipping agencies already, waiting for their quote… We´ll let you know how it turned out in the end!

@Dave: we´ll be in Adelaide until the middle of this week as Helle still has to replace the chain kids of both of our bikes. Then we´re heading up North: Flinders Range – Coober Pedy – Alice Springs – Uluru… then into WA…

Cheers
