Hi does anybody have expirience with the ferry from vladivostok to Japan
i planning to take my bike over but since i just starting to learn russian i a couple of weeks i m not able to find much info or pricing so if somebody knows the rates for a person and bike an xt660 to make the crossing so far i found that it takes about 48hours and costs 300usd for a person a motorcycle i cant find out

Hi,
we paid 360$ per person and 160$ per motorbike last year in September. You have to go to the next JAF office to get an acception for the carnet. So you have to go to Toyama which is about 50km away (.travelogue | 2 auf Reisen)

Why Japan and not Korea?
 

An alternative to going to Japan is to head down to South Korea - no carnet required and the ferry fares are approx $250 for the bike and $200 for you.

Six of us caught a ferry from Vanino on the Russian mainland to Sakhalin Island and then another one from there to Wakkanai on Hokado in Japan last week. No problem at all. I will post all the details on the shipping section of Horizons in a few days.
