The original website was posted Dec 20ish, 1997, from Ushuaia, Argentina.

How about putting that somewhere on the masthead of the new site. Also, I was kind of interested in the presentation that Jesse gave in Creel when he started talking about how people did this before the internet was commonplace. Quote:

Re Al's comments re "pre-internet" travel - I missed that! I know how WE did it - read Lonely Planet, wrote all the embassies - which is how we found out we needed a carnet - and prepped as best we could (read OVERprepped http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/frown.gif ) - and went. Learned everything the hard way, but those lessons really stick! Grant |
