Idea for a HUBB "country guide"
 

Howzit everyone!
I have an idea to add to the main site, a kind of "country guide from people's experiences that'll give people idea about different countries. for instance:

Bolivia
Petrol price- 3.74 bolivianos (0.5~USD) per liter for local plates, 9.8 bolivianos (1.4~USD) for foreign plates.
Traffic police and checkpoints- scarce, usually next to toll booths. very little in cities except la paz.
Police Corruption- relatively high.
Road conditions- Poor on most roads, reasonable between big cities.
Ease of entering: ?
Ease of exiting: easy on the northern border.
local insurance for one year- 190 bolivianos (27.5~USD)
Toll Roads- every asphalt road between cities is a toll road, free for motorcycles.
Roads to avoid- Tupiza-Uyuni - terrible dirt road, not very pretty either. Coroico-Yucuma- VERY dangerous road, construction work until 2015 closes the road from 0700-1700 every day except sunday.
Personal Highlights- Salar de Uyuni, Tupiza area, Samaipata area, Maragua Crater near Sucre, Chacaltaya mountain next to la paz.

I think this could be a useful addition to the main site for people's basic ideas of different countries, and of course more categories could be added. Let me know what you think.

Absolutely - it's high on our list, and some of the work over the last year has been in preparation for this! We'll be hooking the HU Communities into this as well, so you will know all the local info, including how to contact local people.

We'll be needing a LOT of help to fill in all the blanks for 200 or so countries and a lot of info on each :)

I could set up a server and offer 2 GB space and unlimited traffic for the start...

Something very travel relevant would be great.

We don't really need to know that the prime export of Peru is pan pipes with a GNP of 2 million samolians.

I'd love to be able to visit a page where I could expand a hyperlink which brought up Visa info, carnet required, currency, CC of bikes allowed etc etc.
