Minor niggle with saving HUBB links to favourites
Frequently when I am surfing through the HUBB, I come across something of interest which I want to save in my favourites folder. Up until a few years ago (can’t quite remember when this changed) I would have the relevant page open in my browser (internet explorer), I would click on ‘Favourites’, then ‘Add to Favourites’. A small dialog box would then appear giving me options of renaming the link, and where I want to place it. The name for the link would always automatically be the name of the relevant page I was visiting + ‘Horizons Unlimited – The HUBB’
Eg. ‘Carnet - everything you need to know starts here! - Horizons Unlimited – The HUBB’ But in the last year or two, whenever I save links to my favourites folder, the link is automatically named ‘Horizons Unlimited – The HUBB’ no matter what page I’m visiting. I know it’s a minor niggle, but now I have to manually rename each link I save. Primarily this is because you can’t save a second link with the name ‘Horizons Unlimited – The HUBB’ or else the computer will tell you that you already have a link by that name. Ian |
Hmm, interesting - not sure where / when that changed, will look at it when I have some time - which may not be until December!
thanks for letting me know! otherwise it would never get sorted... |

Got it fixed! :)
not sure how it creeped in, but there was an extra <title> tag messing it up. |

Beware changing addresses !
I bookmark New posts at a shortcut on my computer which is: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...etdaily&days=1 When using a new computer I couldnt get it to work. Then I realised that in 2 seconds, the link re-directs to: Horizons Unlimited - The HUBB - Horizons Unlimited - The HUBB The second link is always changing so won't work with a static bookmark. So when you're on the page you want to bookmark, copy it FAST or it might change. Just an observation. |
any time a page redirects, there is an obvious screen showing that's what's happening - at least it does on mine!
You can always edit a bookmark by getting the correct link (right click where the link is, and copy link location or similar depending on browser) and then edit the bookmark. |
Not on mine. Google chrome in Windows 7.
However, that is from clicking the new posts link from the drop down menu. |
