Well, gents, I hope that you will put aside the time to spread your knowledge online or at a Meeting.
Just think of on-the-road repairs. If you stopped to help, and I told you that.... * my battery was boiling up, then dying, what would you diagnose and how would you verify that? * if I wanted to fit, say, a power take off point, where would I wire it to? * if I wanted to use a heated jacket, how would I know if my alternator could supply enough juice? *how can I test my alternator for good health - how would I diagnose a fault? * could I go to scrapyard and take a regulator/rectifier off a car and use that if mine failed on the bike? *any advice about reading a wiring diagram? (apart from a magnifying glass and a pointer) and so on .... ..- you guys will have lots of examples of common problems to sort out. I've put a new battery in my multimeter, ready for action!!!!!! |
