Turn off automatic thread subscription
Every time I reply to a topic I get subscribed to it. Can I turn this off, it's not really usefull. I'd rather subscribe to topics manually, or check a box or something.
Thanks, Peter. |
Click on "User Options", then click on "Edit Options", and change your "Default Thread Subscription Mode".

Thanks, I need to clarify this: I want to use subscriptions without email notification, just to keep tab on interesting topics. But, every time I post I'm subscribed to that thread and you can't turn it off there.

There's a few options under the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" window. The 1st is "Do not subscribe" and 2nd one is "No email notification" (there's also instant, daily and weekly notifications). I'd figure choosing "no email notification" would keep you subscribed but without getting email.
You can check your current subscriptions with the "Subscribed Threads" -> "List Subscriptions" part. Under "Selected Threads" you can delete subscriptions to the threads you don't want to follow. Unless you answer a lot of threads that you don't want to keep track of, that seems like it shouldn't be a problem. Did that make sense? I'm not always sure if what I mean to say comes out correctly. --Dave |
Oh dear, am I blind or what?

No big deal. Some people pick up on things faster. Right now I'm wrestling with my blog because I deleted code that I needed. I know I should've had a more recent back-up...
Grant sent this, but I don't see it in the thread: Also when you reply to a thread, ABOVE the title box, is: Thread: Turn off automatic thread subscription (http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...cription-23931) |
