'99 Yamaha XT 600 E in Portugal
Hey Guys
Had my XT about 6 months now. I found after a little research that my British License allows me to drive anything I want in Portugal so :D Cost me 650euros, not bad tbh. Has a bit of a tick on engine and 35k,000km´s on the clock, goes well and gets about 50mpg. The tick is nothing uncommon from what I have read, and since it hasn´t got any worse in the 3000km that I have done, i´m not concerned. I have been using it for daily commute and for ´greenlaning´ in the portuguese countryside. Hundreds of km´s of hilly, baron land round here :) Has needed a few bits and pieces. Since I had it I´ve done - New clutch cable (snapped when out riding) - New spark plug - Adjusted tappets - New sunstar sprockets and DID VX2 x-ring chain (needed) - New Semi-offroad tyres (Needed) - New pads front and back - New chain tensioners (missing) - New oil and air filters + oil change - Rear rack - New rear lights (broken) Could do with: - New Front and rear wheel bearings + sprocket bearing (front bearing only was needed, rest I did cus might as well) - New headset - New gear shift seal (found a bodge with some sort of sealant when doing sprockets) - New countershaft seal - New Fork seals + oil - Unbodging indicator relay wiring. - Possibly a new clutch... not sure. http://www.ok.eclipse.co.uk/pictures/XT_PAT.jpg http://www.ok.eclipse.co.uk/pictures/xt.jpg http://www.ok.eclipse.co.uk/pictures/xt2.jpg |
