I am serious. Being quite adult, and even having adult kids (out of home), having big house in Warsaw suburbs, and wife who is a fun of motorcycling too, we already host motorcycle travelers quite often. Good whisky and night talks about motorcycle journeys.

My polish speaking (but Swedish native) girlfriend and I might be passing Warsaw on our way down south in early July. A 10000 km off road inspired thumper ride is the plan. With distant parts of the Alps, south of Italy and the Pyrenees as potential goals. Recommendations of roads from Warsaw down to Krakow is of interest. The smaller and less pavement, the better.

Certainly, with pleasure. Till July the 8th I have to stay in Warsaw, my holiday plans start from July 9th (Central Asia). Apart house in Warsaw I also have a village house 35 km west of Krakow, so I travel a lot between these two cities.
Closer to date of your journey give me more details and I'll prepare the custom roadbook for you. It depends how much time you want to spend travelling between Warsaw and Krakow. The quickest way takes just 3,5 hours on a highway. The landscape between W and K is very similar to central part of Sweden, means forests and farms, hills not higher than 400 m, roads quite straight. Boring, being honest. But the real fun starts from Krakow to south. Passing Tatra mountains by narrow winding roads give the Scandinavian bikers, being here for the first time, a lot of excitement. Of course the Alps and Dolomities are better, but Tatra mountains, Polish and Slovakian, give a good start.

Janusz, this is awesome. We have just started to look into routes through Poland and down south. Didn't expect to find a local expert so quick bier

We are currently in the planning stage, but the aim is to arrive with ferry in Gdansk July 1st and in Warsaw later same evening. We might take you up on that generous offer if it suits you, will in such case contact you later on when the planning is definite.

The route though Poland is planned to be Gdansk - Warsaw - Lublin - Krakow and then make our way down to Vienna to hop onto the Alps. Passing Tatra mountains makes more sense then just rushing through Czech Republic. We have about 9 weeks to spare, no time schedule to adapt to. Might do the Stella Alpina Rally if it suits our time schedule.

Any rough guidance of recommended roads, or even GPX-files, is much appreciated. We navigate with GPS-devices, and will try to prepare a lot of pre-planned routes. We are riding a XT660R and a F650GS. We will not be brining full camping gear initially, and will rely on friends, random friendly hosts, couchsurfing, hostels, hotels etc. Small pavement roads and gravel roads suitable for bigger dual sport bikes is what we are aiming for. We are both sport bikes riders originally, with rather limited off-road experience. But thats about to change :)

If you for any reason need accommodation in Stockholm, we gladly welcome bikers through couchsurfing.org. We are currently hosting quite a lot of couch surfers as preparation for this summers trip. So, ANY motorcyclist is welcomed.
My plans toward Central Asia I described shortly yesterday at the HU thread "Travellers Seeking Travellers" under the title "Central Asia July-August 2014", have a look there please. Any additional questions, details, please ask.
However, seeing that you are from Turkey, I must add, that my original, last year plans were to do Central Asia journey according to the ancient Silk Road, means through Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan. Last year I did Turkey part, and then went into Caucasus, and return through Turkey. Turkey is very friendly to motobikers, having very good roads, very good touristic infrastructure, a lot of very interesting places. But after Turkey is Iran, much more difficult than Turkey, but stilll manageable, and then there is only road through Turkmenistan or Afganistan. I decided that I could not manage nither of them, so I have resigned from this "southern road" and I have ended in Turkey and Caucasus.
So, this year, 2014, I plan a "northern" road to Central Asia, which is through Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan.

Answer to K1322 from Stockholm (in the meantime I corresponded with Samy from Istanbul, so being clear what I say to who :)
First of all, you are welcomed to stay at my home, at least one night (can be more, if you wish).
During work days, Monday-Friday, I work, but evenings I have free. My wife has more flexibility with her work, and she is much better as a host than me.
So, you can already put into your schedule an accommodation in Warsaw.
Moreover, if you would spend more time in Poland, instead of doing just one jump straight from Warsaw to Vienna, I mentioned my hut, some kind of a summer house close to Krakow, also very suitable for the accommodation. With it however, the solution is, if it would be during the working days of the week, then I could give you the keys and short instruction how to turn on a water supply, electricity, etc, but if it would be a weekend, I will go there (what I do regularly on the weekends). I already had guests who stayed there without me.
Thank you very much for the Stockholm accommodation proposal, however me and my wife did the Nordkapp last year (2013), returning through Sweden. My wife loved Stockholm, especially shops, what resulted in additional big bag adjusted to our motorcycle luggage. This year we do together Spain-Portugal, and me alone Central Asia.
