Hello. I live in Turkey. Up to 1 month I plan to go to Iran via Turkey. The Iranian state has introduced entry restrictions for motorcycles larger than 250 cc. Recently, there were those who crossed the border gate of Dogubeyazit or Gürbulak with a big CC motorcycle. Thank you.

Selam. Türkiye'de yaşıyorum. 1 aya kadar İran'a Türkiye üzerinden gitmeyi planlıyorum. İran devleti 250 cc'den büyük motosikletler için giriş yasağı getirmiş. Yakın zamanlarda, Doğubeyazıt yada Gürbulak sınır kapısından büyük cc motosiklet ile geçiş yapan birileri varmı. Teşekkürler.

Two of our friends made the route to Georgia , Azerbaijan, Iran and back to Turkey without any problem with a CRF250L and NC750X.

Check the "Overland in Iran" Facebook group. A number of riders on big bikes have entered Iran without any issues the past few weeks.

No problem if you have a carnet de passage...
I meet Turkish biker on the road and they were refuse to cross as bike over 250cc and no carnet...
If I understand well Turkish does not need carnet before and often sale their bike in Iran and fly bike home... but no pb for foreigner with a carnet... If you can get one, it will no not be a problem...

We entered Iran with three F650GS Dakar with German plates three days ago from Meghri/Armenia. No problem at all, no restrictions of any kind (CDP required of course).

I just got back from the Royal Automobile Club in Brussels and since a few weeks, they have received the regulations, that no bikes of more than 250cc can enter, as well as american brand cars, and luxury cars like bentley, maserati...
I hear people cross the border without a problem, but be aware, the new rules are sent out.

I don't think any firm conclusions have been reached, the new regulations do exist but nobody seems to have been turned away because of them.
