Are Iran Visas available in Istanbul
 

Hi All

My wife and I drove from Dubai to UK in Dec 2011 throgh Iran which is an fantastic country to visit.
We are now considering a 'Winter In Arabia' six month trip for next winter incl Turkey,Iran,UAE and Oman.
We are UK citizens but live in Spain so getting Iranian visas in Spain or UK will be very time consuming so,the question is:

'Are Iranian Visas available to UK citizens in Istanbul?':D

Short answer, Yes.

Yep. We applied in June 2013. You probably know from your 2011 visit but you need a Letter of Invite reference number (which I think comes from the Iranian Immigration office or something similar) to submit your application. It was the very first thing they asked us at the embassy.

If I remember correctly the Invitation is done by the tour company that arrange the visa for you. When I applied at the embassy in Dubai in 2011 they gave me a list of 3-4 operators that would do this.

All worked well at that time.

PS. There is another thread re guides. This question was never raised in 2011 and I would 'guess only' that it can be overcome in detaied discussion with travel agent whilst applying for the visa.
