Bhutan Nepal India - help with logistics :-)
Hi there
Just looking at hiring a bike and riding through Nepal and Bhutan (with a small part of India that connects the two countries!) in Feb - March 2013. Has anyone managed to ride in Bhutan with their guides and not having to pay huge motorcycle tour prices? I realise that you need to pay about $250US per day for the privilege of visiting the country. If I hire a bike in Nepal, can I take it into India and over to Bhutan? Any idea of av daily cost in Nepal? Any other advice is most welcome :-) Cheers Adastra |
Technically, to take a Nepali bike into India/Bhutan you require a CDP, whilst it is not difficult to sneak the bike through the Nepal-India border crossing, I would be very surprised if you could enter Bhutan without the correct paperwork .

Hmmmm yes, it seems as though Bhutan is going to be hard anyway I look at it :( so disappointing as I was very keen to see the country!

Nice one Adastra, back on the road again! I'm going to be in Nepal in November/December - I'll try and get into Bhutan and find out what the situation is, remind me on facebook.
