howzit hubbers,:helpsmilie:a quick question about the countrys above.im planning to ride through libya(via tour guide)and get dropped at the egypt boarder and on to turkey.ive read a few threads regarding syria and wonder if anyone has had probs with customs etc heading in and out of these countrys?im on a new zealand passport and will have a carnet and all papers yarda yarda.if you have any probs or advise id love to hear about it.also ....is there anything to see in syria??

Hey Cam,

Syria is quite an interesting place, because it is on the bad guy list of some countries, there are not many tourists so it makes for great place to visit. There are some very ancient places to see, the guidebooks will list them but basically the two large cities of Damascus and Allepo are fascinating if you like history. As for ruins, Palmyra is not to be missed. Castles - Crac de Chevellier. The situation in Lebanon clearly bears watching. Enjoy.:)

cheers mountainman ill have to sort out the lonely planet guide for syria and have a read up.looked at a few tourism sites and checked out some pics,camping sites etc.heading off feb 09 so hope its a bit cooler.
