Going to Goa?
 

Travellers going to Goa should stay alert after recent happenings over there.Which are no news for people living there(expats included). The crime is vast towards the tourists from bag snatching to drink spiking. The alarming numbers of tourists are found dead and the help from the police is very limited indeed. I recently lost a family member over there so I know what I am talking about. The Russian tourist are given printed guide lines what not to do while on holiday there and they seem to be the only ones who are given proper information how things work or don't work over there. The rest are totally clueless. The youngsters go there because is cheap(drugs included) and some do not make it home after. And now there is talk that more carter flights will be coming next year,which will be a disaster waiting to happen if it isn't that already.

As someone living in Goa - one of those ex-pats, I can honestly say this post is total boll@x. Yes there is crime in Goa, but it remains one of the safest places I have ever been to in the world. I would say it is safer being in Goa than say London, by a long stretch.

People get murdered and use drugs in my home city, and it's considered one of the safest in Canada. I have to agree with UselessBab's post above.

You should always have your wits about you, even in the safest places. Is Goa more dangerous than the average Western place? I toured around Goa on an Enfield maybe 15 years ago, so plenty could have changed by now, but at least then I thought it was no worse than any other tropical tourist resort area.

Having spent a month or more in Goa I can honestly say I would never return, there are so many nicer places to see in India. If you must go there lay on the beach do some drugs and party then get real and take the time to travel and see the real India.:scooter: Goa is exspensive compared with other parts.

Yes,I read ,Ibelieve it was on the Indian touring site,the comment somethig like "it is dangerous there, they drive crazy".
