I need to buy new brakes in BANGKOK
Hello everyone,
Do you know where to buy new brakes for my Honda Transalp 2004 in Bangkok? I'd be very thankful for your info. :) |
Do you mean brake pads? I have used the "poste restante" service a couple of times in Bangkok. If you have a few weeks, just order them to a post office.
Most likely the dealer would have to order them anyway. Cheers, Frank |
....
... or maybe order directly from Japan?
For more info send me an e-mail. |
if you're already in BKK try Red Baron, if you're lucky they might have some or know someone.

I think there´s a good chance to find at least something suitable in BKK, you´ll just need to get in talks with the bikeshop owners, they´ll be able to give you directions.
But if you specifically want OEM parts, then they may have to be ordered from Singapore, Japan or elsewhere. Singapore would be the closest, but I´ve got no personal experience about ordering parts to somewhere in Asia. |
If you haven't found the parts you need in BKK then you could always try MTechnik in Singapore.
I know that there are a lot of good bike shops in BKK so keep looking, you're sure to find what you need. Oh and which way are you going after BKK?? If you're going to Nepal/India/Pakistan, buy spares in BKK as you won't find anything until Turkey. |
Hello there,
I finally went to [url=http://www.dr-bikebangkok.com/]bigbike Motorcycles parts dr.bike dr_bike บิ๊กไบค์ มอเตอร์ไซค์ อะไหล่ ด๊อกเตอร์ไบค์ top1 topone oil อะไหล่มอเตอร์ไชค - จำหน่า |
When i run out of brakepads I locate the nearest 'car/bus/moto clutch overhaul shop' which is easier than you think ;) they grind off the any remaining brake material and rivit on custom cut clutch material. I will cost you around 1-2 US$
It works well, uhuhu except when it rains but i will get you going ;) They are still fitted on my KTM 660 :thumbup1: |
I tried that in Peru but they were terrible and not much good at stopping a lardy GS, but as you say, better than nothing and damaging your discs. I changed for proper pads as soon as I could.
