Indian Domestic driving licences
 

Can anyone tell me the ins and outs of getting an Indian motobike licence in Delhi or Chandighar? And does anyone know if I can rent Enfields in Manali on an Indian domestic licence?

I don't know why you would want to bother getting a licence. If you don't have ANY drivers licence just make yourself one.

From what I understand it's a bureaucratic nightmare, like everything in India, and usually involves baksheesh.

In 5 1/2 months there I never was asked for a licence, only ever for my passport and visa numbers. In any case, after a while I stopped stopping for cops...

ha ha, quite true

it is a pain to get a Licence without paying a few hundreds of rupees to the Regional Transport Officers. But you should be able to get thru easily if you have any kind of drivers licence.
