International Driving Permit requirement in Bali, Indonesia
 

Hi guys!

I'm heading to Bali at the weekend for a month-long adventure and am looking to hire a small motorbike (125cc-250cc) in Ubud.

Can anyone tell me the latest requirement re whether an IDP is currently needed in Bali? I've got a full Aussie driver's licence which includes a motorbike licence but my IDP for it has just run out. Getting a new one will be a bit of a pain as I'm nowhere near an RAC/AAA outlet that can process it in time, so just wondering if I can do without it...

Hi Jeanie,

International driver license is essential and will be controlled by police.

If you don´t have, could be that police confiscated you vehicle paper.
Normal you can after a discussion and a small tip drive on. ;)
