Into Iran the next few years?
 

What do you think of the future of crossing Iran? If you want to go to India coming from europe, you have to get through Iran. This hasn't been a problem in many years, but how will it be if the crazy americans go into this country to? The road to India will be closed? As I see, there is no other way, if you don´t want to go through Afghanistan, and that is nearly impossible. Maybe I should do the India trip as fast as possible, before things get complicated in the Iran part of Asia too. Or do you think it will be calm even in the coming years?

There is a third option, crossing from Kyrgyzistan to Pakistan via Kashgar, China.

We will be crossing through Kashgar in mid-October of this year. The permits and permissions for China are not cheap, but its not cost-prohibitive either. Obviously you can't do this route in the winter as the passes are closed.

I am actually surprised that more folks haven't considered this route, Central Asia has been spectacular so far!
