Iran visa, Ankara
Hi,
How long does it take? (Assuming Tony Blair hasn9t ruined my holiday) I seem to remember someone saying about two weeks. Presumably they don9t keep your passport during this time (sorry if that sounds thick). Still getting to grips with new hub and ancient steam powered internet in these cafes or I'd have spent more time searching. Thanks to anyone who can give me some info. Matt |
That all depends where you are from. A kiwi myself. I got mine same day in Ankara, My Australian riding companions a week. I have heard longer for Uk citizens but i dont see why they need longer than a week. Also they would have preffered to keep their passports for that time but we were organizing pakastan visas aswell and they let us keep them and just turn up on the last day, letting them have them for that day to fill in the stamps. This was all around August 2005.
Another tip that worked well for us. we stayed one night, applied for our two visas, went to istanbul for a week then came back and collected them and left the same day. |
Iran visa
Last year we collected Iranian visa in Istanbul and took only 1 day (we had got approval in advance from agency).
However now we are in India and have been waiting nearly 10 weeks for Iranian visa due to issues about the nuclear programme. having spoken to the agency and Tehran and the embassy in london we have been more or less told we won't get one now so are having to ship the bikes home. This doesn't mean you won't get one but make sure you apply well in advance if you are british. Other nationalities do not have a problem and a swiss couple went to the embassy in delhi and waited just 1 week . |
