Khunjerab n Torugart pass in late may
Hello,
I read in the traveller stories, that some of you managed to cross from Pakistan to Kirgistan through the Khunjerab pass and the Torugart. Does any one have an idea of the weather conditions in mid/late May. Is it possible to do it or not ? I have seen that some did it putting the bikes in a truck in October. Severin Note : I already know that we might have other problems than the weather (red tape). |
Mid/late May should be OK, that's when the pass officially opens. Wheather is unpredictable, of course.

Khunjrab pass is about 16000 feet high and weather conditions couldn't be predicted. May/june is fine as I went there in June.

Hiya,
We were there late July 2005. As mentioned above, the weather conditions are unpredictable. The day we rode up it was beautiful, but the military guys up there told us that it had been snowing the previous day! Jacqui |
