ladakh
Hello,
Mid june, me and my girlfriend are planning to go form delhi to ladakh on an enfield. We're thinking about bringing a tent and sleepingbags, wise or just extra weight? thanks gr Koen |
There are probably a couple of places to camp along the way, but at Sarchu (4200m) which is about half way, there are semi-permanent tent camps where you can stay the night and get a meal.
You can do the trip without taking your own tent, but it is probably one of the only places in India that is remote enough to make camping enjoyable. Sean |
Unless you really want to camp, it will be dead meat. You will find accommodation in all most all of the places you are likely to visit.

Yogesh knows what he's talking about so go with him.
However - it seems like a great place to camp if you want to and maybe some of the accommodation is a bit pricey? If you're gonna go to places like Tso Moriri or Pangong Tso camping gear might be handy. I'm certainly taking mine - but then I have the space on an R1100GS. |
One thing I forgot to add earlier, sleeping bag is a good option even if you are not planning to camp. This way even if the hotel room is not good, you will still be safe in your sleeping bag.
