Leh-Srinagar Highway Open?
 

Does anyone know how much of the road connecting Manali-Leh-Srinagar-Jammu is open to travel? I realize there has been a recent increase in military activity in the area.

The new Atal tunnel is opening very soon so definitely Manali to Leh is not going to be an issue. Leh to Srinagar it is likely you wont be allowed past Dras, though the situation is constantly changing. It is a moot point though because there's no tourism for foreigners at this time and that will likely be for the rest of this season.

Thanks Hound Dog. I am hoping to get over there next season, if things open up. I realize that whatever research I do now, everything will likely changed before I get there. I guess I am bored. Cheers.
