minsk mechanic in luang parabang laos
 

Hi guys, I bought a minsk in hanoi 20 days ago and i'm currently travelling around in laos. So far the bike has been really good but recently the engine power is decreasing a lot, especially when driving above 1000-1200mt.
In my opinion it can be the pistons (it didn't look great when i checked it in hanoi) or in the best of cases the rings that need to be replaced. Does anyone know where i can find this kind of spare in luang parabang?

Hi Sol Laos would be a difficult place to get parts if needed
A couple of questions
Air filter ? some bikes don,t have them they just stick the duct into the filter box
What oil mix are you using ? (definite two-stroke oil?)
Because people use engine oil as two-stroke oil the exhaust muffler fouls, check and clean.( it is possible to pull the guts out on some models )
Battery condition?
Have you been changing spark plugs ?
Check and clean magneto , I'm guessing you've just completed a few dusty roads.

Thanks twobob!.. you were definetly right... i didn't found any spares in luan prabang but in the end i just changed spark, clean air filter, carburator and the small petrol filter on the tank, changed gear oil, tided the clutch and now is working perfectly.. we entered 3 days ago in Cambodia:scooter:
