Hi

Im flying into Myanmar around December 20th 2014 with the aim of spending up to 2 months motorbiking around Myanmar.

I definitely dont want to do tours and know that in In Yangon it is forbidden to ride a motorcycle for foreigners or locals so that's a no go.

For bike hire I came across Mandalaymotorbike who can also arrange a Myanmar Driving Permit and have plenty of local knowledge. Looks great to me have other people hired with mandalaymotorbikes?

Good info but those tours are expensive. I could go on a luxury cruise for that price: About $271 a day/per person? (14 day tour)

no tours for me. Im independly riding.

Just bike hire and a permit is what im after.

Is this allowed in Myanmar nowadays? I thought you must have a guide at your side most of the time....

And I guess that there still are areas/regions that foreigners are not allowed at all?
