Motorcycle service in Iran
Hi,
I'm planning a tour and I will cross Iran in June, I'm looking for shops to change tires (that I will carry) and in case of little problem. Mainly in the cities of Tabriz, Ispahan, Yazd, Mashhad... but any good adress will be welcome. |
Hey there, I was just wondering if you have managed to find any info yet so far? I will be undertaking a similar journey soon and this information would also be very useful for me :)
|
You will not have any problem to find a decent tyre shop in Irand especially in big cities.
Just ride to Iran and you will see some good shops... No worries ... |

Another question; what about buying gas I know Iranian people have a fuel card, do I have to buy one or can I use the card of the guys at gas-stations? Thanks |

I don't have any precise information about it yet, if I do, I'll post here. |
Hey guys!
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but i didnt want to open a totally new one. I am going to ride to iran in fall 2018 and a buddy of mine wants to join in. Because of family reasons he cant leave home for 2 months like i am planning to do, but he wants to ride iran quite badly. Thats why we came up with the following plan: - I will arrive in Iran approx. in the end of september (coming from turkmenistan) and will go straight for Tehran - My buddy will fly to Tehran with all of his necessary bike-gear packed into a big suitcase - i will pick him up at the airport and we will rent whatever bike we can get our hands on for him - tour around Iran for 1 or 2 weeks and send him home via plane after that, while i will continue to armenia Our web-search for bike rental in Iran was unsurprisingly unsuccessful. But maybe we can get the contact-data for a bike shop in tehran or something like this, were we can unofficially "rent" a bike for the time being. Do you guys have any idea that could possibly help? Greetings from germany! |
Hey guys!
No ideas oder experiences that could help us a bit? Cheers! |
Does someone know the green petrol availability ?
thanks |
renting motorbike in Iran
Hi. My name is Farhad and live in Tehran the capital
I'm the first person who has started the business of renting motor bikes in Iran from one year ago. First I was renting my bikes to the tourists who were interested to explore my beautiful country on two wheels. After getting experienced, I joined to a Swiss company for marketing. Now we have two website for this purpose. One which is especially for renting motorbike in Iran and the second offers more services like adventure tours and home stay in Iran. www.thepersianride.com www.iran-adventure.com If you have any question, please do not hesitate to ask me. Here is email: faaarhad@yahoo.com Some facts you should consider: 1- Driving Iranian bike with the engine bigger than 250 cc is illegal. so you should choose a bike 250 cc or less. Tourists can use their own bikes (unlimited for the engine but they should deposit by cash at the border to enter their bikes) 2- Driving bikes in highways is illegal, so you should take major roads in your trip. Iran has very good roads but very crazy drivers. It's very similar to Italy maybe worse! Most of drivers do not care about the rules! Speed driving and crossing red light in intersections is very common! (Please read about Iranian driving behavior in internet) 3- If your driving license is valid in Iran (you should be sure about that), you can drive without any stress. Police in Iran is so kind with tourists. So you do not have any problem with police. My documents for the bikes are complete specially insurance. In case of accidents, my insurance cover costs. In Iran insurance is attached to the bike not to the driver. If driver is valid by Iran rules, there is no problem 4- The best plan for you is to start from Shiraz, Persepolis, Yazd, Naeen, Isfahan, Kashan and Tehran. in this Itinerary you can see all major historical sites as well as fantastic deserts of Iran (12-15 days are the best time for this plan) 5- Iran is a cash country regarding to the US sanctions. So you cannot use your credit or debit cards. You should bring enough cash with yourself. 6- You should know that Iran is so safe and its people are so hospitable despite what Medias show. |
please read my comment ath the end of this thread

Hi, this is Farhad
In Iran you do not need to buy fuel card. Every gas station has its card. It's just for statistics. Also you should know Gasoline is so cheap in Iran. more cheaper than a bottle of water Quote:

Hi ,
when I enter Iran in 2015, I didn`t have to pay a deposit at the border. It was not a problem to drive on Highways in Iran, at the toll stations we didnt pay anything. At the gas station usually you get gas with 85 oktane, we didn`t get better gas and no unleaded ! gas. you can buy octan booster, which helps a little. Regards WolfgangK1 |
