Thanks for that, I'm not sure whether he would be able to switch agencies, will talk to him about it when he skypes. Also as you say, dates may be too late for him, but going through singly is cost prohibitive so he may have to consider it.
Thanks again - will pass on your message Cheer Dellwynne |
Prices
Hi, I'm looking to do similar and was wondering if you could post some examples of prices you've been quoted.
Thanks |
Tibet to Laos Tour information

I still want to do the tour this summer myself so I don't want to state any competitive price information of any of these agencies. I will try to send you a PM. |

Thanks for your PM, provides a bit more to think about! |
Actually another instant thought is that it may be worth keeping an extra seat in vehicle for the guide. Prevents them having to provide own vehicle etc.
|
True. This is why some agencies help riders to get in a group with at least one 4wd.
We are thinking of going in July instead of June now. It will give more time to experience the countries in between. Does anybody have experience with this tour (including Everest Base Camp up-and-down) in this limited time? We heard it's a pretty steep planning to get from Kathmandu to Laso in 18 days... |
Hi,
I'm currently in India travelling 2up on an R1200GSA and am looking to transit from China to Laos. Bajatwin - I've seen the other thread where you mention the June 4th tour with Navo. I've been in contact with Navo and 2 Lithuanians in a 4x4 are confirmed for this tour. Their tour is 18 days and it is possible for others to join. I've seen the itinerary and most days cover about 200-300km. I believe they have room in their vehicle for a guide so a separate vehicle will not be required. We have done a bit of research and a ball park figure for a separate guide vehicle comes in at around 3000GBP. We are considering the June 4th tour however April/May would suit us better. A 4x4 in the group (with spare seat for guide) would hugely reduce the cost so want to put the word out for anyone interested in an April/May tour - Nepal to Laos. Cheers |

We just heard we've been granted the Iran visa (took 6 weeks though), only the Pakistan one to go. |
April May for Tibet
Rob has met a couple 2up on a BMW who might be keen for Tibet in April May.....they were heading for Burma as they thought you could enter via road...so have had a change of plans...Rob will be heading to India this coming week from Turkey.
|
For you guys who wanted to enter Tibet this year, I heard the area is closed to all foreigner till early summer. Make sure you can enter before you make detail plan.
|
That's interesting since agents are still confirming tours through for May and June..Our lot are heading through from May 28th..if anyone is keen to join.
|
I'll second what Franki said.Things look pretty tense at the moment. Can't see it getting any better.
