I'll take a bet it won't open up at all this coming summer.

I'm a bit late picking up on this thread, but can somebody explain to me how you intend to enter Tibet/China with foreign vehicles ? I looked at trying to enter China from Pak and was told you cannot bring a foreign bike into China ( you cannot get a Carnet de passage for China), nor can a foreigner ride/drive in China unless they have a valid Chinese driving license ( only available to residents). Curious as to how you intend to overcome these ' minor' problems ???

Tibet, June 5th

HI all, still looking for others to join Rob plus two others heading in on the above date. He had a large group organised but they have pushed the date out to July. ...alternatively is there any other group heading in around this date that he could join. Time is ticking on.

Cheers

No carnet required for China. But you need a Chinese travel agent to arrange everything for you. A guide will meet you up at the border and travel with you in China. And you will pay big time for all this; possibly a little less, if you´re part of a group, but still not cheap. There´s like a hundred threads about it here these days.
