Nepal - Fuel
My friends and I are going to traverse Nepal from west to east in a months time on Enfield Himalayans. Any advice on whether extra fuel is needed or is it readily available from villages? We're taking the mountain roads.

I never had trouble finding fuel when I was there ( Aug/Sept 2015 )other than due to fuel shortages as a result of blockades / lack of supply from India. I haven't heard anything lately about problems. As to weather you need to carry extra? I didn't travelling 2 up on a 350 Enfield. Filled up when ever I had the chance, those things run for ever on a tank full ! Even in the remote villages you can find fuel somewhere for sale in plastic bottles. Many times I turned down fuel which was red thinking its was diesel, I was petrol when I sniffed it, felt like a right tit

thanks mate. what parts of nepal did you get to?

I'm just back the Annapurna area and we had no problem. Only one petrol station was empty, but villages always seemed to have a ready, albeit expensive, supply.

It depends where are you travelling in Nepal ?
If you can't find any fuel station, local have some stock of fuel for sale but price is little higher than the original price of fuel in the market. Thanks CR |
