just stupidity Fern haha I knew it was bad. I was looking for a challange and I got it. normally the locals will have an obscure sign or a local will give you a wave stopping idiots like me. I must of missed it. 4x4 trucks were making it thats why there was no road blockage.
I made some friends spent the night in a village and had a nice bumpy tractor ride into town to get some oil the next day. The bikes been fine since :) from Pokhara the road to Tansen and 40km beyond is really nice. I rode to the closest chinese border from pokhara and didnt think of it its only 120km round trip but Id give that a miss just a road imo Also if your heading to Ladhak from there the road to the western border is smoothish highway riding. In case you were wondering I didnt really know what to expect |
what happened to Brennan's last post?
I received notification but can't see it... any news on road conditions to Muktinath? |
Sorry I'm try to post a pic but it keeps getting rotated 90 degrees. I'll try again.

Let's see if this works

Still rotated but it gives an idea, looks crossable now.
Did you made it to Muktinath? How long did it took you to go to Muktinath and back from/to Pokhara? Can you tell us more about road conditions and temperatures? I'll be in the area late november, so any fresh info is good for me! Thank you very much |
Sorry about the photo. I'm doing everything from my phone and local sim.
Road was awesome. Hard but doable on my 04 GSA fully loaded but I left my camping gear in pokhara. Between Beni and Lete the road is hard. Deep mud, craggy solid rock, baby head rocks. Lots of streams only the one river of note. You'll get wet. You'll need to worry about the cold only in muktinath. It took four hours from Beni plus lunch in tete. That's all I can post right now. Chilling in chitwan. |
