Hello stormsearcher,

you can find some info in our travel reports as well as pictures on our website : on the Manali-Leh road, on Nubra valley, on the road to Pangong Tso and on Spiti.
We didn't ride to Tso Moriri because of a bit of fuel carrying problems, and also because we were heading down again to Spiti and back overland to Belgium.

We also had a post under "Asia" on http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000026.html

Do take time to stop and look around. Don't hurry.
And collect good info on Altitude Sickness (AMS) and take it serious. Shouldn't put you off (we didn't have any problems other then one headache one night, but others --for no obvious reason-- were suffering more and some much more).

Good luck on this INCREDIBLE journey. I'd do it again and again and again, any day. Also, I think the rd 350 is a MUCH better idea then an Enfield.

Hi you stormsearcher,
(and stormsearcher(s) you seem !)

sorry, indeed, I overlooked the Tso Moriri to Ki-bit.
Just had an extensive look on the two maps I have, and noticed even getting a good map of this area is a problem.
One points to a Parang La (pass) but stops there, the other (the Nelles of course) shows indeed this very interesting and tempting 'red line' bewteen the two. You'll be getting very close tto the sensitive Tibetan border, btu I guess at least some of you are Indian and might get away with it (permit and all).

Haven't heard nor read of anyone doing it, so you might just be the very first !!
Your bikes are THE good weapon for it for sure.
Sorry to be of little help. I'll keep all my web tentacles open for it, but I doubt there's anyone.
I'd love to hear if/how you made it up there. Any chance you'll be writing a newsletter or keep a website (afterwards of course ;-) ?

BEST of luck for all of you !

am using the 'lonely planet'/ have the last 2 editions.there are some unexplored roads i found comparing the two maps.would u like me to scan the maps and send it to u?
from tsomoriri the road goes to a village called 'dutang' from there the roads branch out to either 'kibber' and a village called 'gete'and to 'hanse' further up/ if we cant do this we will backtrack from tsomoriri to sarchu (not the tsokar lake route) and then on to baralacha pass to 'chandratal 'lake to kunzum la./
only i hate them watercrossings/lol/and the fact i use a racing machine than an off roader.anyway i 'hope' to do it come hell or high water/(but cant beat nature can i?)/
