old biker !
I would cross China with an agency and a guide but a Chinese travel agency told me that the motorcycle license in China is limited to persons under 60 years of age.
I'm 65 old So I could not drive my bike. who has information about this rule? thank you chris |
As an afterthought, I met a guy (Des Molloy) who rode out of Bejing a few years ago and him & his mate were over 70! (They had a DVD, "The last Hurrah") so i think its nonsense?

Simon Gandolfi has published a few books on motorcycle touring through South America and South Asia, and he is into his late 70s...

In the UK you have to get signed off by a doctor at 70 years plus so may be this is china's version?
if your bike licence is valid you should be fine. you just need to check. International Driving Permit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://treaties.un.org/pages/ViewDe...mtdsg5&lang=en China is the most notable example of a non-signatory country. Short-term tourists are not allowed to bring cars into China at all. All foreign registered vehicles in China must display a Chinese vehicle registration plate. hope this helps. |
