Does somebody have got the Pakistan visa outside the own country?

I have the same question!

If you take Visa in your own country then how many days you have to get in PAkistan? It's possible to enter more further then 90 days??

We four people two from Thailand, one HK, one UK managed to get visa on arrival at Sost border as a group tourist by the efforts of a reputable tour operator in Pakistan. Vertical Explorers Treks & Tours Adventure & Activity Holidays, Tours & Travel | Vertical Explorers Tours tour operator sent us a letter stating that we are a tourist group touring Pakistan with them and when we arrived at Sost, received by representative of the VE. We were well received and toured around by a professaionl guide, Saif from Sost to Lahore. both the outfitter and guide Well recommended.

Contact the Pakistan embassy in your home country and ask them if you need to attend the embassy in person to get the visa. If not, Fedex your passport to the embassy in your country (you may have to send it to a relative first and then get them to send it to the embassy for you). The embassy should then grant you your visa and send your passport back to your relative who can then forward it to your at your overseas address.

We did this in 2012 from Thailand. Sent our passports back to Australia and had the visas granted and passports back within a week. Of course you need to check first with the embassy if they are cool with this. And you will need to factor in that you can't move too far as you'll be without a passport for 1-2 weeks. In some countries like India you need your passport when you check in to most hotels so I would recommend not doing it from there. Thailand seems a good spot.

I wouldn't risk trying to get a visa on the border.

As far as I'm aware - no. Hence why most people will need to arrange for the visa once they're on the road.

Just adding my 2 cents as a friend and I have just been granted Pakistani visas in New Zealand. Very easy process compared to what I have heard on this forum. Phoned up the consulate (we don't have an embassy), and they said that if we did not actually know anyone in Pakistan, we did not need a letter of invitation. Asked him about overlanding with motorcycles, and he said as long as we had a carnet it was fine, and then set about telling us how to arrange those!

We were also able to get them 6 months in advance, so were able to arrange them before we left. Just needed the bank statements, letter from our employers, and other associated paperwork (passport copies etc). Im dual citizen, and they didn't even need to see a copy of my UK passport.

Our itineraries were from Lahore to KKH, including Islamabad, Gilgit, Skardu etc, entering from India and exiting to China.

Sent them on a Monday, received them back the next Monday.

So all in all good news for Kiwi overlanders intending to head to Pakistan, a very overland-ing friending consulate here.

Hey just a question,

I too am from NZ going rtw, I have a British and Australian passport as well as the NZ one, so hopefully have so more options, especially with sending the passport back home. But why did you need bank statements and a letter from employer? I haven't worked in nearly 2 years because of travel and most of my money is in interest bearing accounts until I need it, so most of my accounts are kept running pretty low. Could that cause problems?

Can someone share their experience getting a visa for Pakistan? I am trying to access the website and it´s down and here it asks for a letter of an operator or someone living in Pakistan to invite you.

Any ideas?

The MAP ( motor assosiation pakistan can help you with an LOI for free. Just contact them as they will make sure you have a very good time in Pakistan.
Otherwise most people get it from Snowland travel agency.

We just called the embassy and asked what they needed. After explaining our situation (sending our passports back from Nepal to pak embassy in Nederlands) they where very helpfull and only asked for short itinary, they didnt even need a LOI.

Sorry for the confusion. Nepal is visa on arrival, so hassle free indeed.
We where in Nepal and had to send our passports home to get the pakistani visa as it is impossible to get it outside your home country these days.

Normaly i would advise not to mention. In this case we did mention that we where traveling on bikes and would leave through a landborder. It was no problem at all.
