Pakistan visa application for UK passport holder
I have been looking into the current Pakistan visa application process in the UK and find you now have to use Gerry's visa service whose website I have put below. I hope travel through China over the KKH to Pakistan and on to India in a few months time.
My questions are does anybody have experience of using this service? Do I need an LOI? What supporting information have you needed, your own itinery or actual reservations from hotels or tour companies? How long have you applied for and been granted? I was hoping to get a 30 day tourist visa, is this being a bit optimistic? Any other useful information about getting what I understand is not the easiest visa would be appreciated. ..::Welcome to Visa Drop Box::.. |
Used Lost Horizons Trek and Tours
Hello
I used Lost Horizons Treks and Tours in Pakistan. Gave them my approximated dates for thirty day stay and some safe border entree as they wanted. For US$50 they e-mailed a safe travel plan and sponsor introduction necessary for the Pakistan Embassy. I had my passport couriered home (admittedly New Zealand )and it took less than a week back there to get sent back too my second party who then sent it onto me in Nepal. Think Lost Treks and Tours have been doing it for a while knowing bikers aren,t planning to do a Trek with them. |
We used Lost Horizons as well. They were very nice and speedy. (In the US we got a 3 month visa from the date of issue - had to reapply with a special request for a later date and pay 2x. Make sure you specify the date clearly up front.)

Thanks for your replies, it was just what I was after, I have a second passport so will leave that here and have it sent out to me.
Any need for a letter of introduction from the Foreign office or is the one from Lost Horizons sufficent and how long was it valid for? |
Lost Treks was enough
Hello
Lost Horizons and Treks were enough of a sponsor for me , had no other letter. I also got a 3 month visa even though I only applied for 30 days. Always pays to keep the passport you entered the county on with you ,with the visa in it as someone might ask too see it sometimes. I also got my Iranian visa through Iranianvisa.com which seemed much easier and had my authorization code in a week or so. but I guess a lot depends on your passport as others show. |
We used Lost Horizons for the way out and just went to the embassy in Delhi without anything for the return journey and they required a letter from the UK consulate which we were given without to much hassle.
A side note, don't say anything about overland travel, you'll probably be turned down if you do! Cheers Pete |

When? How did you manage to get a visa? We tried last year but they told us that the Pakistan visa can be issued only in one's own country unless you have a Indian residence visa (which we didn't have.... :( ) And absolutely never never say you want to go by road... |

Sorry about the out of date info! |

Last year in July we got our 6 months Indian Visa in Islamabad, Pakistan. About the chinese visa I've got mines in Hong Kong and Bangkok and know people who got theirs in Laos (but this was almost 4 years ago...). |
Sending Passport home for Pakistan visa
Dear All
After reading this thread I am still wondering what one does if you send your passport home, when abroad, for a Pakistan PK visa? A Few queries if anyone has some answers? 1. You will be deported if you are checked and do not have your passport (you can say you lost it I suppose?) 2. If your a UK passport holder it can take a short but most likely long time (6 weeks) to process, does one sit tight in one country waiting for this? 3. If you are a dual citizen and send one passport home would the authorites not suspect oddities as the country you are in has your present visa stamp and your dual passport has your PK visa in it (ie if you are in India or China this will have your Indian/Chinese visa stamp on your No.1 passport, whilst your No.2 passport gets sent home, No.2 passport will have your new PK visa but No.2 passport has no India/China visa thus highlighting gaps/shortcomings in your validity to stay in present country....does this make sense?) 4. In UK, To gain PK visa one must hand in supporting documents in person and if you are abroad they want a reason why you are not there, any suggestion as to this reason? 5. Lost Horizons now charge $75 for LOI and itinerary for UK citizens! 6. Here is my recent correspendence with 'Gerry's' regarding PK visa: Visas are normally current for six months. However, duration of stay may vary from case to case. In case of any disability or inability to come in person you may authorise someone in writing to submit your visa application stating the reason for not submitting the application in person. He would be required to submit a copy of his ID. For visa requirement you may visit our website www.visadropbox.com. You can find check list for the required category of visa there. Many thanks |
