Problem Riding Over The Thai /Malaysian Border?
We have decided we will be buying Honda Waves in Malaysia rather than bikes in one of the other countries (mostly for ease of paperwork in our names, in Thailand the dealers want to put the bikes in a Thai national's name, or want us to have the non immigrant visa).
We will be avoiding riding the most Southern states (Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala) in Thailand, but does anyone know if the main Thai highway is as much of a problem in Songkhlain as the embassy pages make them out to be? Normally we find that those pages are to be taken with a grain of salt, but as we know nothing about the area we thought it better to see if someone else here does know! Thanks! |
Crossed from Thailand to Malaysia on 5th August with British passport and Norwegian registered bike. Easiest border I did, took about 20 minutes at both sides. Met Dutch friend in Malaysia a few days later, he had same experience. Hope it goes as well for you.

Awesome! :-) Thanks. Riding in this area was never planned and so we find ourselves checking stuff out very last minute.

Easiest Crossing Ever
For the record it was in fact the easiest crossing we have done outside of the EU, and that hardly counts.
