Pukhet - Mechanic for Service & Accomodation
Hi.
Does anyone know of a good address & availability for a mechanic in Pukhet to do some servicing for the bike (BMW F650 Dakar)? Or somewhere near Pukhet? Got parts with me. But would need some decent engine oil. Also: Is it possible to get spare parts in Bangkok (head bearings, for example)? Thing is: I'm pressured for time to meet family & friends in Pukhet, so won't be able to stay in Bangkok for more than 1 day after arriving from Kathmandu. Also: Got an offer for 500 Baht/night in a guesthouse, if I stay for 3 weeks. Is this a good price for Pukhet? Or should I be able to find something cheaper? Cheers Bjorn |
There is a new bike shop just opened in Phuket but its a Triumph dealer.Andy the head mechanic speaks English and so might be able to either do the work or recommend someone who can. They are on the 402 heading north about 2kms from Tesco-Lotus.The road is signposted to the airport. If you do go say Andy with the Bonneville sent you.

We stayed at the Thalang guest house for 350baht a night, and you can park your bike out the front. Its on Thalang Road and is about 5 ks from the bike shop.

Thanks for the recommendations. Will check out the bike shop on Pukhet when I get there. As for hotel: I agreed on a 500 Baht/night deal on Kata, including wireless.
