Rainy Season South East Asia

Hi there,

I am planning a trip from Amsterdam to Hong Kong, and back. First half being through Russia and Mongolia. Second half through SE Asia, Indian, Pakistan, Iran, etc. I am planning to leave June 2005, meaning that I would hit Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, somewhere around September, October.

Does anyone know if this is wise at all? Considering the wheather and road conditions? I plan to do this part with a passenger even. I'll buy a 1150GS for the trip.

Any words of advice are more than welcome, since it will influence my planning...

Thanks and hoping to be soon on the road..

Cheers

Martijn

The roads in the SE Asian countries you mention are generaly good tarmac, so travel in the rainy season is more than feasable, however, if you were thinking of doing Cambodia as well, which would be a real shame to miss,IMHO!, then alot of the roads are just hard mud tracks which must be hellish to travel on in the wet season...

Best of luck and happy travels.

Thanks! I am happy with the good news. I believe that I am now considering Cambodia as well.

By the way, I think I will reschedule a bit earlier just to be sure. I will be there around July/August.

Great travels

Martijn
