registering an enfield in Nepal
Hello,
i'm planing to drive back from india to switzerland on an enfield, reading the threads,i understood that there is no way that one can get a carnet de passage with an indian bike. As the bike is 1000 dollars more expensive in Nepal, does anyone has tried to register an indian bike in Nepal or would be the import taxes too high to make it worth. |
Lork, hmmm, now are you talking about a new bike or a used bike?
I know of people who bought used RE's and road them home to Netherlands and to Ireland. You cannot buy a new RE in India unless you have some sort of residency status, ditto for used bikes. If you are considering a new RE I would reconsider. New RE's take quite a while to break in and are quite frankly not a lot of fun to ride. Good luck... |
