Renting a bike in Nepal for 2 weeks
Can I (a foreigner) just walk into a bike shop and rent a bike for 2 weeks? What documents/stuff do I need to bring and take?
|
I did last year for more than 2 weeks. He wanted a substantial returnable deposit, passport copied, the hire fee. I showed my license, he glanced at it, I think? You should have no problems. Insurance is "optional" I didn't think it worth it, as I had no plans to have an accident or even scratch his bike, which was the case. Had a great time and no problems on return. I did not book in advance, just turned up made arrangements and picked up bike next day, it was quiet and post quake so he wasn't busy.
Regards kit - take your own if you possibly can, especially helmet. |
Hi,
Mostly motorbike rental company have similar rules here is details: Documents required for motorbike rental in Nepal. - Original Passport or Refundable Cash deposit. - Driving license photocopy And it would be better if you rent a bike in advance, mostly in peak season you won't be able to get bike even if you are willing to pay double :D Choose only recommended and good review company before renting motorbike in kathmandu. Good luck CR |
