this may be a little off topic, but what the hey. As I am heading to india I have a 15 hour delay in taiwan. I plan on meeting a buddy at the airport and spending the day in the city. does anybody know if it will be a problem for me to leave the airport and return later that day. Visas for Americans??? thanks

You would have found out right away if you searched for Taiwan Visa Requirements on Google rather than asking on the HUBB,
But, for your information, the U.S. Department of State says....
U.S. passport holders will be allowed to enter Taiwan without a visa for up to thirty days (no extensions allowed) if their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Taiwan and the traveler has a confirmed return or onward air ticket.
