Shıppıng to Australıa from nepal / ındıa
 

Gıven the complete ıneffıcıency that my ındıan vısa was dealt wıth and that travellers lıke lars are sayıng fly from katmandu to avoıd the ındıa red tape ı am now consıderıng thıs.

Couple of questıons

Can ı get ınto nepal on my ındıa vısa

can ı fly dırect to aus, or bankok then aus

any recommendatıons or ıdea on prıce

any tıps gratefully acceped

Flying to india - its a nightmare
 

Andy, from what I can gather from the Hubb and from my own personal experience, India for me so far seems to be a no no for flying a bike into.

I have spoken to 5 agents and as many cargo companies and they are all having massive problems getting the bike into India. By this I mean that the agents in India that release the goods from customs state that I need "special permission" from the Indian government to release the bike from customs. Why o why o why!? Nobody can give me a sensible answer.

To say that this has been a frustrating experience is an understatement. I think my mistake has been trying to organise this via email and phone. So I'm off to Istanbul tomorrow to see people face to face, I am hoping this will help.

So, the only option available for me to fly the bike from Turkey to India is to try and fly it to Nepal. So far the only "positive" feedback I have is:

"We can load your bike with Qatar Airways via Doha but first we have to put the Bike on to pallet and package with band. We will do it here in Enco warehouse.
We don’t have an agent in Nepal therefore unfortunately we really don’t know the customs procedures in Nepal.So we don’t know the customs fees in Nepal either.
The rates ex Istanbul to Kathmandu via Qatar Airways are as follows ;


Airfreight : 5,68 eur/kg

Airwaybill : 80,00 eur / per shipment

Dgr fee : 50,00 eur

Packaging : 50,00 eur

Customs fee in Turkey : inform later

To you r information.will discuss about all when you come here.hope there will be no any problem neither in Turkey nor in Nepal!!"

............so thats well over a thousand pounds to fly it over iran, pak and india. TREMENDOUS.

Gawd knows what tomorrow or next week will bring.

Going into somewhere is different to leaving.

Usually the coustoms people are happy to see things leave - they are a lot more dilligent on things ariveing ...

Think leaving India would be better than arival.
