Short trip in the himalayas With pillion!
I will be in India / Nepal for 2 weeks in November.
This trip was not planned to include any biking, however Would it be possible / reasonable to hire a bike get a 3 or 4 good days in on a bike suitable for carrying a pillion. I am an experienced rider on and of road but wonder about the practicality of two up riding in the Himalya region. |
hey man,
You'll have no problems renting a bike either in Delhi, Manali, Rishikesh etc. etc. You'll pay up to 300-700RS a day depending on how long you want the bike for. If you're going two up, I'd consider a 500cc as you might need the extra power for some of the passes. Another thing to consider is that many of the higher passes e.g. Manali to Leh road (Himachal Pradesh) are only open in the summer (June-September) which might restrict where you can go. Either way, you should do it. Roads are pretty good, most of the time, people drive crazy, but scenery is unbeatable. I've just spent 5 months travelling India by Bullet and it has been F@#ing amazing! good luck |
