Touring Iran without Carnet
Hello,
I'm planning to drive to Iran by car. I heard that it is possible to get a Carnet for transit at the boarder and upon paying a small fine you can leave at the same boarder. Has anyone of you done that? What was your experience? How high was the fine? Any help highly appreciated! Thanks! Daniel |
2007 i met an aussie guy, tracey, in Pakistan (he entered also Pakistan, but was not allowed to drive, so he had to pick up the bike on truck and train to Lahore but he didn`t get the bike into India ) who did it with his bike without Carnet.
After 2 days of negotiation (i think, he was coming from Aserbeidjan), he was allowed to enter Iran without paying anything :scooter: If you want i can PM his email helmut |
I met the same geezer. He lent me/gave me a load of bungees and i was in a crappy mood and didn't really want to chat if i remember correctly (awww...i feel bad now). I was leaving somewhere and he ran off and collected them for me. I think it was in Lahore or Quetta because he ran off to the customs area to get me some bits.
If you have his contact details i'd like to thank him! |
