i presume the ttr250 has 12v electrics? if it is, any 12v battery will do. it just needs to physically fit in the space. if is a lower ampage then it will be less strong/go flat quicker. if it is a higher ampage it will be better than the original.

If you're really stranded, even a small car battery will WORK - just strap it onto the back seat, and run some wires to the orignial terminals. If it's that or walk or abandon the bike, do what you must!

Hi Niels, don't you mean a CT7B-4 gel battery? mounted on end in the bike. I have a spare battery in the shed (I had a TTR250 until it was stolen) and would be happy to send it out if your desperate. If your interested let me know.

Cheers Neil.

Neils, David did exactly what Grant suggests.....used a car battery strapped to the back of his bike. ....makes for a great photo.!Rode the Karakoram highway like that. He used to get it charged at workshops when needed. E mail him if you need more info on what he did.
Being a mere woman I am not sure of the details and he is not here at the e mail cafe with me.....cant even recal the colour of the battery.
PS. We leve Bkk on Sunday for Bangladesh.
