350cc - London to Cape Town
 

Please could you give me some throughts/opinions on taking say a DR350 from London to Cape Town.

I will be trying to travel as light as possible but you get to a point where you still need to take a fair bit of "sensible" items along. So how does the 350 handle with loaded luggage and middle weight rider. Is the engine strong enought o make it all that way etc

Anyone done this trip with this bike?

One of the guys from the famed Mondo Enduro/Terra Circa RTW trips did them both on the same DR350....
Thats over 60,000miles loaded including totally off-road across 400miles of Siberian swamp.
Watch the films and make up your own mind, but it sounds like a fair bet.

That's a too new bike for me to ride, but you shouldn't have any problems. Unless riding slow drives you crazy. I like it because I tend to look at everything around me. On a fast bike, I would've missed a lot of stuff.
