Serrow

Hey you mentioned that youre wife rides the serrow, why not just stick with that and travel lighter. 2 people dont need twice the Kit.
I am not too tall myself but having a big heavy bike takes some of the fun out of travel. My TTR 250 made a great touring bike. Its a bit too tall for youre wife but they now do a 250 serrow which is much lower.
There seems to be a trend towards kitting out bikes like BMW 1200 Adventurers. Yeah they look great and if youre big enough no worries but Why bother when something else can do the same job. Bit like using a JCB to plant flowers. (sorry going off track its too early I need more coffee):confused1:

A 'vertically challenged' friend of mine who currently rides a Serow has just bought a Pegaso 650. She had the ride height reduced by Falcon Shocks who 'did something' (her words!) to the rear shock and dropped the front forks through to reduce the overall ride height. Seems to have done the trick - I'll get more details if you're interested.

"Also look at the DR650" Very good tip thank you will look into that - sounds ideal and possible solution.

"Sadly, apparently DR650's are not sold in the UK." Well surprise, surprise eh - what a market they are missing. Will have a look for Jap imports or similar, same spec' I would assume due to average heights.

Many thanks!

Hi Fritz, Just a thought, try BAT motorcycles there are located in kent/surry i think (google it) they deal with and import "grey" machines, and may be able to help:thumbup1:

Thanks Malcolm, will try them + I've signed up to the DR650 Yahoo group and will ask Q there. If I find out any useful info for UK I'll post here.

Try this: The Short Bike List (SBL) NoƩmi's list, at:

Useful site thanks, and highlights the problem too. Looking like whatever we get one will need to be lowered anyway. If only DR650s were available here they look ideal. The quest continues.

BAT couldn't help by the way Malcolm...still trying
