I just did a test drive on a 700 in Ibague Colombia and i own a 2014 g650 gs that is practically new 9000 km 2550 when i purchased it in late july
I did not know anything about adventure bikes before i purchased my 650
My only knowledge was reviews on the internet
yes i am new to this shit but the price was right
the 650 thumper is a beast in basic form and it handles well and is a multinational put together cheap and fast out of the plant with no frills
The new 700s are a elegant version of the 650 with 25 more horse and a heavier
but with less vibration and 4 choices of seats and bigger beemer luggage systems
So! here in Colombia there are literally hundreds of 650s for sale and i got the best deal in the whole country in the city that i work in
i did not have to travel to look at a bike i just bought it where i live and this is not a big city there are no autogermanias here, nearest is 180 km
I know why there are tons of 650s for sale here in Colombia
MOUNTAINS big ones and the 650 is pushed to the limits when you want to pass 500 trucks and busses climbing 3000 meters in 1 hour with sometimes 100 meters of clear road before your 200degree turn
