Breva 750?
Has anyone considered the new Guzzi breva 750 for a L/D bike? Seems like it wouldn't take too much to build one like the desert racers Guzzi made years ago. It has a lot to offer, good brakes, good motor, shaft drive and tubless tires etc.

I may be wrong but I believe it's got a 17 or 18" front wheel? Even if you could fit a 21" wheel in there, the forks would probably need swapping for something longer, with a lot more travel. You would then need to increase the rear ride height of the bike to match the increase at the front, to avoid that "Easy Rider" look. This would involve longer suspension & possibly a longer swingarm & drive shaft to prevent UJ problems.
Guzzi's are also not particularly light & carry their weight a little higher than an equivalent 2v BMW. It may make a good road biased touring bike but I would not fancy one off-road. Steve |
Probably irrelevant but the other day in Firenze I noticed the Italian police still ride 750 trail Guzzis much like the old NTX650.

sales of the 750 are really slow in UK because every prospective owner is waiting for the 1100 to come. you can get great deals on the 750 at my local guzzi dealer, with discounts, luggage etc
