BWW 650 Dakar - Can you buy them direct from BMW?
Howdy
Just going through the early stages of planning a 3 month trip through Europe (mainly Norway, Sweden, Finland etc) next year. Now someone tells me that you can order BMW bikes direct from the factory if you are from overseas, and use it for 2 or more years?? Is this true, or another chinese whisper (rumour) If not is there many of these bikes for sale over there and an approx cost for some good ones? We will prob ship them back when we are finished? Sorry if this question has been asked before, I searched for it but no luck Regards Scott |

I'm sure the BMW factory will sell you a bike (or find someone to sell you one) no matter how long you are away. Regards Nigel in NZ |
That probably didnt come out right ;)
What I meant was I heard you could order them from the BMW Factory, at factory prices, and the 2 years is the amount of time I need to own it before I can bring it back and not pay duty etc here in NZ?? Cheers |
Scott,
check out http://www.bmwparklane.co.uk/ They have a page for export/taxfree sales and should be able to give you the info. |
Check out http://www.customs.govt.nz/nr/rdonly...9/0/fact29.pdf
All the info you need from NZ customs. Basically says you if you own it for over 12 months overseas then there are no import duties/gst  |
I have never heard of that. I think if you were to contact BMW that they would give you a list of dealers.
I think the dealers in Germany would have something to say to BMW if they were to undercut them like that. |
